tsuya begins high in the misty hills of asamiya, where otani-san tends the tea fields behind this single-farm matcha. one of japan’s oldest tea-growing areas, asamiya is shaped by cool mountain air, morning mist and wide shifts in temperature between day and night.
made entirely from otani-san’s first-harvest okumidori, tsuya is carefully shaded and slowly stone-milled. it is smooth and full, with the creamy nuttiness of cashews, gentle cacao depth and a soft oat finish. enjoy it as usucha or with milk. cold-whisk it and the cashew note comes right to the front.
otani-san takes a reduced-pesticide approach, and this lot was tested for pesticide residues. all detected levels were below the applicable eu maximum residue limits.
